MVP Project Lab Coat

What Is Project Lab Coat?

Project Lab Coat (PLC) is MVP Disc Sports’ multi-year initiative to refresh the visual identity of MVP and Axiom stock discs starting in 2026.

After taking a critical look at their lineup, MVP determined that while performance remained industry-leading, many stock stamps and visual standards were rooted in design decisions made over a decade ago. Project Lab Coat represents a commitment to ensuring that MVP and Axiom discs reflect today’s capabilities—not yesterday’s limitations.

Importantly, PLC is a visual refresh only.
There are no changes to flight, molds, or plastic performance.

2. White GYRO Rim Standard (Starting 2026)

Beginning in 2026, all MVP discs will be produced with a white GYRO rim standard across all plastic lines.

Historically, MVP used black rims due to early production limitations. As manufacturing capabilities expanded and the brand evolved, white rims proved to:

  • Enhance visual consistency

  • Improve visibility during play

  • Amplify glow effects in Proton and Eclipse plastics

  • Maintain brand identity while modernizing the look

MVP discs will now exclusively feature white rims.
Black rims will still be available within the Axiom lineup.

Are Flights or Plastics Changing?

No.

All molds:

  • Remain the same

  • Are produced in the same facility (Marlette, MI)

  • Maintain the same flight characteristics

PLC affects appearance only.

Will the Lineup Change?

Yes — but strategically.

MVP evaluated which molds and plastic combinations have the strongest demand today. As a result:

  • Popular molds will see expanded plastic offerings

  • Lower-demand molds may see reduced plastic variety

  • The total lineup size will remain manageable

This helps retailers avoid excess inventory while keeping high-demand discs readily available.

Will Black Rim MVP Discs Still Exist?

Starting in 2026, MVP discs will use white rims exclusively.

However, black rims will become more widely available within the Axiom lineup, giving players continued access to that aesthetic preference.

What About Streamline?

No Streamline stock stamp updates are planned for 2026.

Because Streamline was developed during MVP’s modern stamping era, it was not included in this initial PLC refresh.

When Will PLC Discs Release?

The rollout will take place gradually throughout 2026.

More popular molds will be refreshed earlier in the season, with dozens of updated items restocking monthly until the full lineup transition is complete.

Will “Pre-PLC” Discs Be Discounted?

Not immediately.

Existing “Classic” stock remains MAP-protected and maintains identical flight performance. Limited discounts may appear later as inventory transitions, but availability may vary.

At Top Tier Disc Golf, we believe informed players make better decisions. As MVP transitions through Project Lab Coat, we’ll continue updating our catalog so you know exactly what you’re getting—both visually and performance-wise.
