How Glow Discs Work
Glow discs are made with phosphorescent material mixed into the plastic during manufacturing. The brighter and longer you charge them, the brighter they'll glow.
A few things to know about how glow plastic behaves:
Glow plastic tends to run more overstable. The phosphorescent additives stiffen the plastic, which generally makes glow versions of a disc more overstable than their standard counterparts. A regular Buzzz and a Glow Buzzz won't fly exactly the same — plan accordingly.
Charge time matters. A quick 10-second blast with a UV flashlight will give you a few minutes of solid glow. For longer-lasting brightness, charge for 30+ seconds. Carry your UV light with you on the course and top off your disc before each throw.
Not all glow is equal. Different brands use different glow formulations, and the brightness and duration vary significantly. Some glow plastics are bright enough to spot from 300 feet away; others fade quickly and are hard to track in flight.

LED basket lights or glow tape. If your local course doesn't have lit baskets, bring your own solution. Glow tape on the chains works great, or a small LED light hung on the basket pole.
A headlamp with a red light mode. Red light preserves your night vision while letting you see the tee pad and your surroundings. White light will kill your ability to see the glow trail.
Extra glow sticks or LED markers. Mark your disc's landing spot, mark OB lines, and mark mini positions. You'll be glad you had them.
